Summer 2009

What a year we have had! From the sublimely beautiful Vaughn Williams Mass in G to the truly grand Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle, we presented our audiences with real musical treats.

The Gilbert and Sullivan programme was delivered with sustained enthusiasim, and if we didn't quite manage to enunciate the tongue twisting lyrics, we gave a creditable and entertaining performance which the audience thoroughly enjoyed. Over £723 was raised for Malmesbury Town Hall fund, so a great success all round.

Note from Iain Duffin, choirmaster:

The Gilbert & Sullivan concert on July 4th in Malmesbury Town hall was great fun, and well received by the audience. Thanks to Tony Briggs for the original inspiration for the evening!

It was a great success for the return of summer singing and we hope to match it next year with another splendid programme, so you are all welcome to join us - either as a choir member or a member of our esteemed audience!

Concert Feedback!

Message from our Musical Director: Thank you all so much for all your hard work. It was a longish concert and a big sing and we acquitted ourselves very well. The Rutter Gloria was very exciting and all those "tricky bits" that we had worked so hard on came off. The Parry (I was Glad) was a really impressive "curtain raiser" and to follow that with such a sensitive rendition of Bruckner's Ave Maria was impressive.
